PBSC Invitational
PBSC Invitational The Palm Beach State Invitational is a multi-day, multi-discipline competitive event. This event is an opportunity for members of public safety agencies to showcase their abilities, compete against their peers, and learn in a cooperative environment. It's free and open to the public, so come out and cheer them on! Most events will be hosted at Palm Beach State College's Lake Worth Campus. The Rapid Intervention competition (think firefighters breaking down doors and dragging weighted safety dummies through an obstacle course blindfolded!) will be held on Lake Worth Beach. Competitions include the Firefighter Challenge, Panther EMS Challenge, Rope Rescue Challenge, and more! You'll watch local firefighters and EMS professionals race to see who is best! - Mental Health First Aid in Higher EducationMental Health First Aid in Higher Education This event is intended for PBSC SLC personnel. Mental Health First Aid for Higher Education teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This nationally recognized certification gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and connect them to the appropriate care. - Small Business UniversitySmall Business University Palm Beach State College, in partnership with School District of Palm Beach County and Kaufman Lynn Construction will be offering free courses tailored to small business owners. These courses will take place every Thursday from 4pm-6pm. Participants can attend in person or online via zoom. Participants will earn a certificate of completion at the end of the eight courses and a digital badge from PBSC for each session attended.
