- Cosmetology, Barbering, Facials, Nails, Diesel and Welding Information SessionCosmetology, Barbering, Facials, Nails, Diesel and Welding Information Session Barbering, Cosmetology, Facials, Nails, Diesel and Welding Information Session Come to one of our Info Sessions and learn more about an exciting career in COSMETOLOGY, BARBERING, NAILS or FACIALS, WELDING or DIESEL TECH! This will be in-person on the Belle Glade Campus. Cosmetology: This comprehensive Cosmetology program develops your knowledge and mastery of hair, skin and nail care. You’ll learn and apply the art and science of the full range of salon services, including hair cutting, styling and coloring, permanent waving and hair relaxing, facials, and manicures and pedicures. Barbering: The program includes theory and barber experience in hair styling, hair cutting, hair coloring, permanent waving and hair relaxing, salon management, shaving and skin care services. Facials Specialty: In the Facials Specialty program, you’ll learn a variety of facial techniques, as well as waxing, microdermabrasion, glycolic peels, lash tinting and makeup application. Nails Technician: Students in the Nails Technician program gain marketable skills in a style-savvy salon environment, featuring current products and equipment. You’ll learn and practice manicures, pedicures and applying various types of artificial nails and nail wraps. Diesel Technician: Learn all aspects of the medium-heavy duty truck and heavy equipment field as you gain real work skills in Palm Beach State’s large, professionally outfitted repair shop with various makes and models of trucks and heavy equipment. Welding Technology: In the Welding program train in our spacious, modern facilities, featuring individual booths and equipment for learning all major welding processes, including torch cutting, MIG/TIG, flux-cored arc, plasma arc and pipe welding. - Level Up Advising Workshop [In Person - All Campuses]Level Up Advising Workshop [In Person - All Campuses] Be Informed. Stay On Track. Graduate. You need to complete your Math and English requirements within your first 30 credits to stay On Track. You need Advising to do it right. This workshop will help you get there. The presentation will: - Orient students to Advising options, i.e., ways to connect with advisors - Explain where students identify their assigned advisor - Demonstrate where students schedule advising appointments - Highlight the differences between the A.A. and A.S. degree and their unique purposes - Explain why students need to complete Math & English early and why the major matters when it comes to determining which Math classes are needed. - Transition to RN with a Practical Nurse or Paramedic License Review SessionTransition to RN with a Practical Nurse or Paramedic License Review Session Transition to the RN program with an active Practical Nurse or Paramedic license. The transition student can bridge to semester two of the RN program with a passing score of 75% or higher on the Accelerated Challenge Exam (ACE). Transition students can choose between four RN programs: Accelerated, Lake Worth fulltime, Belle Glade fulltime or the Lake Worth Evening/Weekend Program once the program requirements are met, the HESI Math section is met with minimum 80% and a passing ACE score. Proof of a current PN or Paramedic license is emailed to the Nursing Program Specialist, Rhonda Grant Boles.
